There is a trick to disengaging the brake.
You would remove power from the motor. Then you will squeeze the two prongs within the rubber handle. You will either press down on the handle and turn, or you will squeeze handle, pull up and turn to disengage the brake. You would then be able to move slide in manually by hand.
